You can easily opt for a simple walk of a few hours, but major trails you might tackle include the Grande Traversée du Vercors (which you can even do accompanied by donkeys), the Grande Randonnée national paths through Drôme (GR No.s 9, 91, 93, 95 and 429), or even the Huguenot path, retracing the Ancien Régime exodus east of persecuted French Protestants from these parts.

You might like to embark on a special guided green hiking trip, for example via the Retrouvance project run by the French forestry commission, or on exhilarating horse-riding expeditions with experienced guides leading you along some 2,500km of equestrian trails.
